2007-2008 Concert Season
The Northwest Chamber Chorus, under the direction of Mark Kloepper, is celebrating our 40th anniversary this season, culminating in a performance at historic Town Hall on June 8. Please join us!
About the Chorus
The Northwest Chamber Chorus has long been recognized
as one of the finest choruses in the Pacific Northwest. The 40-voice ensemble is critically acclaimed
for its professional quality performances of the best classical choral music. Membership
is open to experienced choral singers by private audition with the music director.
The Northwest Chamber Chorus attracts large audiences and wins extensive praise and
support from the Seattle arts community. The group is featured regularly on Classical KING FM and KUOW's
The Beat. The Northwest Chamber Chorus has performed with the Seattle Symphony, the Seattle Youth Symphony,
the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, Cascadia Brass, Spectrum Dance Company, Philharmonia Northwest, and Baroque
Northwest, and in 2007 participated in the American Masterpieces Choral Festival, featuring choral conducting legend Dale Warland and celebrated composer Morten Lauridsen.
Since 2006 the NWCC has also been featured with the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra in its annual Duke Ellington Sacred Music Concert.
Three compact disc recordings of the Northwest Chamber Chorus are
currently available.
The Northwest Chamber Chorus has received grants from the Cultural Development Authority
of King County, the Washington State Arts Commission, Seattle Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs, Wyman
Youth Trust, Behnke Foundation, Washington Commission for the Humanities, and PONCHO. In addition, individual
donors support the group at a high level, adding to the ongoing success of the chorus.
